Best Deck & Railing Contractors in United States
We had been introduced to Ben at All Star Stair Railing through our contractor. We were in the middle of a big renovation and decided we could not live with the ugly pony walls that we had through out the house. Ben texted me right away. Came out to measure the following day. Sent his quote out hours later. Worked out our design and adjustment and we were off and running. He was able to start earlier than projected. They take real pride in craftsmanship and what a pleasure to work with.

Alex was great from the start with communication through yelp and text. The door to our courtyard was rusted and had broken a hinge. His team fixed the door, replaced the hinge, and also gave it new life with a fresh coat. The timing was to be expected with a fix and we are happy with the finished project. We would recommend IMS to anyone looking for a gate or repair.

If you are looking for the best deck builder in Phoenix, give Isaac a call. He's super friendly, super honest and super reliable. You'll be glad you chose them!

I had Hernandez make a custom RV Gate for me and I am truly impressed. Everything done was top notch. Everytime someone comes over, they mention how nice my gate looks. You get for what you pay for and if you want quality, one-of-a-kind, look no further, excellent craftsmanship.

Someone on Nextdoor recommend Pool Remodeling Brothers. Based on their recommendation I reached out to Jose for an estimate. They were responsive and got our pool fixed within a week of contacting them. We had some cracks in our pebble in the steps and we couldn't get anyone to call us back or do the job because it wasn't worth their time for what they would make on the job. Because they took on our little job we will be using them for our pool remodel in 2-3 years because our pebble is old and wearing out.

Had our Kool Deck resurfaced and it looks wonderful. It took 2 days to complete and the experience from start to finish was very positive. Communication was prompt and Dave, the owner, was on site both days to ensure the work was done properly. I will definitely use them again in the future.

Checked the roof and it looks good. The seams around the vents look very watertight. The shingles looks like it's held down tight. They also do wood work. They removed my old, unused swamp cooler and put in an additional wind turbine. They're registered with the state of AZ. They're certified GAF shingles installers if you decide to get GAF shingles. They also finished within 2 days.

Ray and his team did a great job at our house. Ray, from Aztec Decks was recommended to us from our pool repair company and they worked hand in hand to bring our 1970's pool back to life. His estimates were very reasonable and his attention to detail even better. We had a chip in the concrete, without asking any questions (could've been there before) he just repaired it, moved our existing pool equipment and took the initiative to paint the plastic piping to protect from UV rays and labeled each pipe to its function. Communicated with me throughout the process what his schedule was and when he would be able to complete tasks. He was very patient, thoroughly explaining how he was going to lay out the work and would troubleshoot little challenges that seemingly always pop up. His crew was polite and respectful of our property. Ask to see his portfolio of previous jobs, he has done some beautiful work on high end homes. I would highly recommend their work to my closest friends.

Joel was fantastic. He was meticulous, careful, comprehensive, and absolutely honest. Our back decking in Flagstaff was in need of refurbishment. Instead of trying to talk us into a full redo, he was able to find the structural issues with our railing and steps, walkthrough a repair of a concrete pillar, showed us where there were opportunities for small restructurings for reinforcement, and gave us a dead honest estimate. When we looked to add a few things, his add-ons were priced fairly, and he also discovered a few issues which he repaired without extra cost. He came when he said he would, he completed the work when he said he would, he documented with photos and videos and sent them to us. We paid him ahead for materials, we paid him at the end for labor. I was absolutely pleased with his work, and would definitely call him again should the need arise.

From the initial quote to the completion of the job, Adam and his team were amazing. My deck had several areas where boards needed to be replaced. Other contractors told me they would need to tear off the entire deck because repairs areas never look good once it is finished. Boy were they wrong. The deck and stair case they repaired and refinshed looks beautiful. I am completely delighted!

It's funny how I wrote a review on this company and it disappeared. I had my pool cool decking refinished back in Sept. 2018. This was suppose to have a 3 year warranty. I started my contact with this company back on 8-4-20 emailing them asking for them to come back and repair the cool decking that was breaking away. No reply. 3-18-21 sent another email. No reply. I tried calling to leave a message, but mailbox was full. I called 602-423-8016 someone said someone would call me back. Cindy, daughter of owner, called and asked me to send pictures which I did. Sent pictures to 602-478-3234. 3-22-21 Cindy said she would send message to Eric, her brother, who did the work and will send him another message to get a hold of me. 7-7-21 almost a year and still no response. I have now sent a letter to Better Business Bureau, Arizona Registry of Contractors and now a review on Yelp. Please do not give them your business if you need cool decking. They don't stand behind their product or warranty and you will have to get repairs done before two years end.

Simply, the best I've worked with. Brings great attitude and energy, he also considers you as a client foremost. I couldn't get anyone to work on my exterior door without having to buy a whole new door, because other guys don't have the skill or the willingness to do the actual carpentry work. Jason is fantastic, it was energizing to me to see a master craftsman at work, I can't rate him highly enough.

David and the rest of the team at Deck Services are amazing. Our deck had some areas where the original paint started to peel off and parts of our pool's cantilever were broken and chipped.
David showed up numerous times to give us a proper estimate of the work and go over the options and details with us.
Once the work started, they did a great job keeping the backyard as clean as possible after each day of work, they protected the pool with plastic sheets to reduce the amount of dust that fell into it.
The last few days were when the art started. Watching David and his team handcrafting each artificial flagstone with the Kooldecking material was an amazing sight. But not less important, the final two days when they did the cleanup and touchups, as well as how they left the backyard at the end was amazing. They did a full cleanup of the yard, vacuumed the pool using a special tool to get all the debris out, and washed the entire backyard to an amazing and pristine state.
Not only was the price reasonable, out of all the deck guys we talked to, but their work and the quality of the result was top-notch.
I would recommend David and his team wholeheartedly to anyone.

Don't let the contractor/owner do any of the work. Tell him to let the pros do the job.
Best to only give final payment after EVERYTHING is perfect with your pool/patio.

Update 1/25/18 (3rd and final post)
Our saga is finally over. ( Please read to the end if you want the whole story) First Impressions has made everything right with our door and has compensated us for our frustration and time. We wish the process went smoothly from the beginning but they did the right thing in the end. If you choose to use this company be sure to advocate for yourself if you don't receive what you paid for. I'm updating my rating from 1 star to 3 stars because they corrected their errors.

I truly wish I did more homework before doing business with this company. I was lured in by good reviews by neighbors but am in the middle of a horrible customer service experience.
Everything was going great until the door was installed. Our door has a horrible powder coat finish. It's color is blotchy. There are areas 6-12 inches long where the finish was touched up, because of damage during transport, but the color is completely different. The handle was welded together crooked and has a decent amount of weld splatter that wasn't removed before powder coating. There are numerous dings and scratches in the finish. To top it off the installer didn't even bother to clean the glass partition where our last name was written in some kind of marker....its over 12 inches long.
This company makes you take photos of all the issues and submit them before sending out anyone to assess or correct the problems. They make you waste your time to document their quality control issues so they can save themselves time.
We are now approximately 3 weeks into this ordeal with very poor communication from First Impressions on a resolution.
I can not recommend this company. Please read other reviews and you will find similar stories.
Update 10/28/13 (2nd post)
Due to a lack of response we had no choice but to go to the company headquarters and confront the customer service department. We insisted on speaking with the manager. After being lied to that she wasn't available she magically appeared. We presented our situation and she agreed that our door was below what First Impressions strives for and apologized for our inconvenience. Due to the degree and quantity of issues the door had to be removed and taken back to the production facility. We insisted on compensation of a new powder coat color and faux treatment. It was declined at first but we stuck to our guns and it was finally approved. They insist the faux treatment was provided as an upgrade and a $500 value. We know that isn't the true cost to F. I. and see it as a small token for our trouble.
Today, 2 weeks later, the door was reinstalled. To our dismay a large number of the problems were not fixed. Despite the promise that everything would be personally quality checked before delivery. We immediately contacted the customer service representatives and we are basically being told that this is all part of the normal process because this is custom work . I completely disagree. This is poor workmanship and even poorer quality control. Now the customer service manager is coming to see the door in person. Who knows what will happen from their.
Please do yourself a favor and don't use this company. In their growth they either have lost their ability to produce high quality or they are playing the numbers and hoping only a small percentage of people will call out their incompetence. Either way they are putting the burden on you.

I found G's Hone Services on Yelp, requested a quote, he got back to me within 20mins of my request & quoted me a fair price. I hired him for the job & he nailed it. Great service, great work, I highly recommend.

We love our courtyard gate and we get many compliments! It fits great, gives us more privacy and looks great. We're so glad we got it!

We had a beautiful new iron door with screen and gate installed. When a company is stand out positive I want to share. This company is amazingly professional, fair pricing and their customer service is top notch. The entire process from choosing our iron door and gate to the installation was effortless. I highly recommend First Impression Ironworks.
